The North Suburban Fast Pitch League (“NSFPL”) was organized by the Trevian Girls Softball Association in 1991 to promote competitive girls fastpitch softball play in Chicago’s north suburban area. The Trevian Girls Softball Association continues to organize and manage the league each year. The NSFPL has grown to cover a much larger geographic area, and at times has had more than 120 teams in a single year playing under the league banner. In 2022, there were 101 teams competing in the 10U-16U age groups in multiple competitive divisions.
The current NSFPL Commissioner is Sarah Bennett. Sarah played with the Trevians 18u for two seasons. She is attending Carthage College majoring in Sports Communication, with a minor in Public Relations. Sarah has been a middle infielder her entire softball career. At Libertyville High School, she played four years of varsity softball and 2 years of varsity swimming. During her time with the Libertyville Softball team, they won 3 regional championships (2017, 2018, 2019) and conference champions in 2017 and 2019. She was awarded all-conference and all-area in 2019. This will be Sarah’s 4th year coaching for the Trevians, this year being her first year at 14’s as our Trevians 14u Blue Head Coach. At Carthage, Sarah is the president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). This is a group built up of two athletes from each team that organizes events throughout the school year. SAAC also facilitates a safe environment for athletes to reach out if they have issues within their coaching staff or with the athletic department. In 2023, Sarah was award by Carthage Athletics as the Female Merle Chapman Award Winner for exemplifying traits of loyalty, enthusiasm, leadership, sportsmanship, and commitment to academic, athletic and personal excellence.
