The North Suburban Fast Pitch League was organized in 1991 to promote competitive fast pitch play in Chicago’s north suburban area. The NSFPL recognizes the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) as the authoritative national governing body and follows ASA rules on the field. For 2019, there are 81 teams competing in the 10U, 12U and 14U age groups, in multiple competitive divisions.
Gene Lenti is the director of the NSFPL. Gene has a distinguished career in the sport: NFCA Hall of Fame, Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame, DePaul University Athletics Hall of Fame, 40 years of youth, high school, collegiate and professional coaching experience, 1,324 collegiate wins (fifth most), 25 conference championships, 2 regular season NPF championships, 4 Women’s College World Series appearances, 1999 National Coaching Staff of the Year, 8 All-Americans, 15 Academic All-Americans, 7 Academic Conference Awards in the last ten years, Third highest GPA in Division 1 (2015).
